Fall 2018 Issue of Sweater Girl Society Magazine Available Now!

Make sure you read the new Fall edition of Sweater Girl Society Magazine, as we have a great issue instore for you! In this issue, we have Sweater Girl Spotlight articles on Veronica Lake, Ida Lupino, and our featured sweater girl… Anne Nagel. 2018 Pin-Up Art Special Edition Issue of Sweater Girl Society Magazine Available Now!

It’s here… our Pin-up art special issue edition of Sweater Girl Society Magazine!

We have a great issue in store for you, as this 286 page special edition issue is dedicated to pin-up art and the artists who create it.  

In this issue we take a look at the history of pin-up girl art on page 3. Learn about the different pin-up artists, their different styles, and when, why, and how the artform became popular.

Also in this issue, we take a look at five of the greatest pin-up artists of all time… Harry Ekman, Gil Elvgren, Arthur Sarnoff, Art Frahm, and Edward D'Ancona. Not only will you learn about these talented and legendary pin-up artists, but you will be able to view a large portion of their work… All total, 258 Pin-Ups!

Summer 2018 Issue of Sweater Girl Society Magazine Available Now!

What a great issue we have in store for you this time! In this issue, we have articles on Alexis Smith, Bunny Yeager, Alice Denham, and our featured sweater girl… Mari Blanchard.

Sweater Girl Society Magazine had a chance to sit down and interview Steve Cosmic, the Director of “Sweater Girls: Then and Now,” a 2017 documentary about three modern day women who experience wearing bullet bras for the first time. Read the informative interview on page 3.

Also, in this issue is a great photo gallery on Bonnie Logan. Checkout her photos on page 40.

Spring 2018 Issue of Sweater Girl Society Magazine Available Now!

We are so excited to bring you this edition of Sweater Girl Society Magazine, as it is our special swimsuit edition!

In this issue we feature photo galleries and pin-ups of your favorite sweater girls wearing only their swimsuits.

In addition, we have articles on Marie Windsor, Lana Turner, and our featured sweater girl… Jan Sterling.

Checkout Amy Joyner’s article on the history of the swimsuit from the 1940’s – 1960’s.

Keeping in the spirit of our beach theme, we have the Sweater Girl Society Magazine’s top 10 list of 1960’s beach party movies.

Winter 2017 Issue of Sweater Girl Society Magazine Available Now!

After a very successful 1st issue, we return with a 2nd issue of Sweater Girl Society Magazine!

In this issue we have biography profiles on five classic sweater girls including Denise Darcel, Francine Gottfried, Betta St. John, Sue Ane Langdon, and Merry Anders.

Amy Joyner returns with her column, where she gives us a look back at the history of the bullet bra.

We also take a look back at the pop culture phenomena of sweater girls being featured in magazines with a photo gallery of various old magazine covers.

Also in this issue is Sweater Girl Comics, some Sweater Girl Pin-Up Art, 18 Pin-Up Girls, and tons of vintage ads.

Debut Issue of Sweater Girl Society Magazine is Published Today!

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here! the Sweater Girl Society’s official magazine.

The mission of Sweater Girl Society Magazine is to honor & preserve the history of the sweater girl style and phenomenon that was so popular in the 1940’s through 1960’s.

For our debut issue, we have packed the pages with a plethora of nostalgia that includes profile articles on Mamie Van Doren, Diana Dors, Barbara Bates, and Allison Hayes. This issue also includes an article detailing the history of the Sweater Girl, written by Amy Joyner, as well as 44 retro pin-ups.

We are confident that you will enjoy reading our debut issue, as we have packed over 70 pages full of content that we believe will be informative and entertaining.

Sweater Girl Society Featured in Canadian Documentary!
The Sweater Girl Society is featured in a new documentary released today by Golden Age Movies, and titled “Sweater Girls, Then and now.” The 80-minute documentary follows three modern-day young ladies, inspired by the bullet bra fashion trend of the 1950’s, as they experiment with wearing bullet bras in modern day. The film was written and directed by Steve Cosmic, produced by Jade North, and stars Jade North, Sarah Novicki, and Claudia Luna. The film was shot on location in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Patti Page dies at age 85.
Patti Page passed away today at the Seacrest Village Retirement Community in Encinitas, California. She was 85 years old. Page had been suffering from heart and lung disease
